	Ogiek Elder Murdered

		The last victim in the continuing communal conflict in Mt. Elgon area is former Chief Tenderesi Temoi aged 83 years. A senior Ogiek elder, Mr. Temoi was kidnapped metres away from the local provincial administrators office in Kopsiro Dision, Mt. Elgon district. He had met with the provincial administrator early that morning. The kidnappers, alleged to be members of the outlawed Sabaot Land Defence Force (SLDF) are believed to have been monitoring the movement of the elder and suspected he might have given secret information to the provincial administrator. It is alledge that Mr. Temoi was tortured and had his throat slit, killing him instantly. He body was found minutes after the brutal murder by group of people fleeing the escalating tensions. Mr Temoi leaves 4 widows, 30 children and over 100 grand children.
